Robert Sullivan – Founder/Partner
Robert Sullivan, founder and Managing Director and the driving force behind the success of several Investment Banking/Retail Support firm that specialize in providing financial and investor relations for publicly traded companies.
Mr. Sullivan has also been the host of successful prime time radio broadcasts across the country and has been heard daily for nearly 10 years.
After university and law school studies, Mr. Sullivan published a successful weekly newspaper in the San Diego area. Active in the venture community since the late 1980s, Mr. Sullivan has assisted more than 200 companies obtain investment capital. While experienced in fulfilling the needs of companies of all sizes, he particularly enjoys working with smaller, growing public companies.
He has also played an integral role in helping management teams develop corporate and product marketing strategies and establish strategic and technical partnership agreements. Mr. Sullivan has been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, American Entrepreneurial Exchange, Success Magazine Group, and Compuserve Venture Forum, and is a successful radio personality, publisher, seminar producer, and public speaker. He has served as counsel to companies operating in a variety of industries, including computer hardware and software, communications, biotechnology, retail, service, manufacturing and medical devices.
Larry Tate – Partner
Larry Tate, partner, has been in the financial services industry all of his working career. He selected the industry after graduating with honors in Finance and taking graduate courses toward an MBA. He built a successful insurance firm with over 1500 clients, and went on to be vice-president of a national life insurance company by the age of 26. He has been in the investment business for over 25 years, and has held 5 different securities licenses, including a licensed investment advisor. He built a clientele of over 1500 investors and managed over $75,000,000 in assets. He was the top producer for a regional investment firm of over 200 top producers, and was vice president of investments for a major national securities firm.
Larry has also helped develop individual companies. He was the National Marketing Director for two companies, in charge of building their national sales force. Both companies were listed on the Inc.500 Fastest Growing Companies in the U.S. for multiple years in a row. One of the companies had revenues go from $3M/year to $125M/year in 3 years, with the stock increasing in price 600% in the same time period. He has also been the Executive VP of 3 different early stage start up companies, one of which went public on the BB, with the stock increasing in price over 2000% in 2 years. Larry has trained over 50,000 sales people in 5 different industries. He has also designed internet based B2B marketing strategies, developed strategic alliance partnerships with companies 50-100 times larger than the company he was consulting with, written press releases and created investor relations communications.
Prior to becoming a founding partner in Waypoint Capital Partners, Larry was President of a San Diego based investment banking and venture capital firm, working both with institutional sources and private investors. He has experience consulting with early stage companies in capital formation, acquisitions and mergers, development of management teams, and development of effective marketing strategies. He has also been a public speaker, often giving the keynote address to business audiences ranging from several hundred to several thousand. |
